Happy Birthday Brittlynn

Celebrating a birthday while on vacation is always kind of tricky.  This year we had a family birthday party in Ohio before we left. Brittlynn was able to celebrate her birthday with her cousin Bowen. She was excited to be able to celebrate with her cousins. Her nana got her a special princess ice cream cake. She loved it. Most of all she loved being able to celebrate her special day with her family. We decided we would wait to give her our gifts when we got home so we wouldn't be traveling with everything.

The next day we flew back to Las Vegas where my sister had made a special dinner and cake just for Brittlynn. She was even more excited to be able to have another cake and for so many people to tell her happy birthday.

Her real birthday happened during our drive home.  We weren't as prepared as we should have been as parents to be able to give our gifts to her when we got home so we told her we would celebrate the next day. First thing in the morning both Savannah and Brittlynn came out looking for her presents. She was disappointed to find out that she had to wait until later. I also tried to convince her that she didn't need another cake, because she had already had two. She wanted mini cupcakes that she could decorate with pink sprinkles and there was no arguing with her. So the day after her birthday I made her a special birthday dinner, bake potato with green beans, and we had cupcakes and opened her presents. She didn't care what she got for her birthday, she told us anything we wanted to give her she would like. What was most important to her is celebrating her birthday as a family just like we always do. I hope she can stay that way.
