A trip to the Zoo

Moving to a new state means finding new things to do for fun.  A trip to the zoo is always at the top of the list.  Eric had a day off, Alex and Emily had school, so we thought we would try it out.  Brittlynn and Savannah were way excited to see the lions, tigers, and bears but we first had to get past the coolest giraffe area ever.  You are able to feed the giraffes right out of your hand.  The Zoo is set right on the mountain side and has some of the most amazing views of the city.  (You definitely get your work out walking on the side of the mountain.) It was just the right size for Savannah.  You could walk through it in a few hours if you need to or you can spend the whole day there.  There is a castle at the top of the zoo that you can go visit with the price of your zoo admission.  It was a lot of fun and we be visiting again in the future.

The Pumpkin Patch

Through out the year there are certain places you have to go to.  For example, the pool in the summer, the lights at Christmas time.  For me in the fall, when you have kids especially, you have to go a pumpkin patch.  So we found a local pumpkin patch to go to.  We were limited in the time that we could go so as a last minute   Friday night activity we headed out without Alex and Emily, who had better things to do.  It was a warm evening, but ever so windy evening, but it wasn't going to stop us at all.  Activities included; riding a train, duck races, digging in a corn barrel, hay stack, tire climbing, tube crawling, petting farm animals, and many more.  The wind tried to stop us from having fun, but we tried everything.

Brittlynn ready for all of the fun.

Savannah riding on a bushel of hay.

Pollyanna getting kissed by a camel.

Eric falling at the end of the slide.

Savannah and daddy enjoying the slide.

Savannah getting ready to go for a ride on the train.

Eric trying to make the ducks move in a water race.

Mommy and Savannah on the train ride.

Standing in a pile of tires.

Eric going through the tunnel...

now it's Savannah's turn...

Mommy and Savannah are coming through.

Time for a picture moment.

Playing in a bucket of corn is way better than sand.

Dad even wants to try.

Now it is time to pick out a pumpkin...

do you think this one is good daddy?

In the barrel it goes.

We had a lot of fun, the only regrets we had was how windy it was.  We will have to go back next year.
