Alex came out to spend a week with us before he went to basic training. Eric was excited that he wanted to be here to watch him get baptized so we scheduled his baptism around his trip. He was so excited that we were so close to mountains he decided to by a snow board before he came and couldn't wait to try it out. Unfortunately the snow wasn't the best and with a slight wrong move his board caught and he landed on his shoulder. It wasn't fun trying to snowboard down the mountain when you could barely move your shoulder. So the day went from a day of fun to a day spent at the doctors office.
The news wasn't good for Alex. He couldn't move his shoulder that meant he couldn't go to basic. It was hard news for him. He has been waiting for so long and now he has to wait even longer. He wasn't even sure if or when he would be able to go. With lots of prayers on his side, another trip to the doctors office, referral to a physical therapist, and a new assignment for June 2 things turned out to be okay. His recruiter didn't want him to work...and his shoulder really needed rest, He settled on playing his xbox and being our built in baby sitter when ever we needed one.
This is one of those times that a hard thing shows immediate blessings. The girls are able to spend time with their brother. The last few years they should of had with him before he moved out they lost. Now they get to have a big brother, laugh and make memories. He is a good sport about it all. It doesn't even mind being a big kid for them sometime. I hope he realizes the blessing he received in this little trial.
