Football season is always better when your favorite team is winning. This year was a roller coaster ride for Eric and his favorite team. By the end of the regular season they were one their third quarter back. Some how they won their conference championship with him and made it into the 1st ever national championship playoff ranked number 4. We had a party for the first round of the playoffs when they played Alabama the number 1 seated team. It was an incredible game. Eric was so excited he couldn't believe his team was going to the championship game. It had been a long time since they won the national championship. The night of the game we supported them in every possible way. They won the game against the Oregon Ducks 42-20. Eric couldn't stop smiling. He was one happy kid that night. More importantly Eric had just told me the Wednesday before that he wanted to get baptized. That night he called the bishop to come over and let him know the decision that he made. It was a day recorded in history for the Nation...and a day that changed our family forever.
