This year we decided to take a family trip to California. After Eric's and I went for our anniversary we couldn't wait to bring the kids back. There was so much that we wanted to be able to do with them. We fell in love with San Diego and wanted to share it with our family. We thought about going to Disneyland again, but couldn't get the discount tickets during the time we would be visiting so our trip would consist of a day at the Zoo, Sea World, and Lego Land. We would stop in Vegas and spend a few days with my family before we made the drive to California. We hadn't planned on Alex coming but he decided a couple of weeks before we left that he was going to join us.
The time at my sisters house was nice. The girls always love to play with their cousins. We spent most of Saturday just playing and having fun. The girls couldn't get enough of the trampoline and running around. Eric took Alex and Hunter a football game. They had a fun, even though the parking was awful. Hunter enjoyed spending the extra time with Alex. The game wasn't the best so the boys left early to come home.
Sunday was church then some decorating of ornaments. I was grateful my sister had some because we didn't have time to paint ours before we left.
After that we spent the evening looking at the lights. It was a lot of fun except it felt like the whole city of Las Vegas had the same idea. It was good to see the lights and get out of the house for a little while.
Monday we all decided to go bowling. It was fun...Lisa always seems to make things more exciting then normal. She has a way of taking the contention out of a situation.
Brittlynn fell while we were bowling and she split open her chin. I put a band aid on it and thought that it would be okay, but a few hours later it was still bleeding so we took a quick trip to the urgent care for some stitches. Daddy made it in time to help her be calm, and not be afraid of the boy doctor. She was so brave and just sat there while he put 4 stitches in her chin.
That night we did our cousin gift exchange. The girls were so excited to get their gifts from family. It was fun to see cousins open the gifts that we give them. I am glad that we were able to spend some time with my family for christmas. It is hard traveling going to see family for the holidays. I am glad that we were finally able to share a little bit of that special time with my family. Perhaps I have changed my idea of what I think is best for the holidays.
The next day we were off to the next part of our adventure...California
