Labor Day Weekend

As usual the Lescarbeau family decided to try and pack in as many activities as possible into a three day weekend. The kids decided to go the high school football game on Saturday. We thought is was a great idea so we could have time to do whatever parents do when kids aren't around....check out the clearance racks at Academy... (talk about an exciting Friday night activity). Then unlike anything that happens in West Texas...it rains. We are not talking about a drizzle...it was a down pour...lighting...thunder...the whole nine yards. Luckily for us our kids are in the middle of it at the football stadium. After about an hour or more of waiting for the game to start, they finally postponed the game until Saturday. (By this time we were about 5 minutes into a movie.) There goes a quiet Friday night.

Saturday we spent the morning boating out at the lake. Polly successfully gets up wake boarding. Alex and his friend James try hard, but without success. (Its looks a lot easier than it is.) We pick up Analise and Sage to go tubing. Polly, Savannah, and Amylee head to the pool for swimming. (Unfortunately the pool never opened...chemical issues, bad weather, etc) We left the lake to drop off Alex and his friend off at the Central game, Emily went with the Strattons, and the parents went home to take a nice needed nap or watch the Ohio State Football game. We ended the evening with a late dinner, a family movie, and checking football scores on the lap top.

Go Bucks!! It's Game time.

Fun on a tube.

Sunday...never really crazy...its a day of rest and we take that literally in our house: Church in the morning. Naps in the afternoon. Friends over for dinner. A walk around the neighborhood. Putting dents in the van with a football. (Yes, you read that right. Eric threw the ball to Alex...he missed the catch and we now have a dent in the back of the van. Dad can't get mad when he is the one who did it.) The kids were off to their friends houses for sleepovers so the parents enjoyed an evening of piece and quiet at home.

Monday, the last day to swim at China Beach. (Savannah's favorite pool)...Alex went and played soccer Emily and her friend came to the pool with us. The only problem is we missed the memo that the pool didn't open until 1:00. So we swam at the big pool. (Not as much fun for Savannah, but at least she got to swim.) We ended the day going to dinner with a group of our friends.

Not the craziest weekend, but it was one full of adventure.

Did you guys rent that boat? Looks fun - I don't know why we never did that. I think probably because Joe never wanted to take the safety class:)

Yes...we rented the boat. It was fun. The boat wasn't the best out there. I guess that is what you get sometimes with the AF
