Conference Weekend

What a great way to a weekend away. It was conference and we were able to get a couple of tickets for eric to go to the Friday night session and he and I went to the Sunday morning session. On our way down we decided to take the girls to temple square, but first we had to eat at The Pie. We love going there and we sure do miss not having something so good by us.

Then we went to the newly re-opened family history center. We could have stayed there forever, but it was getting late and we wanted to take the girls to the Confernce center. It was so amazing to go in the tour and let them see the building on the inside. They were fasinated. I love watching them get excited about things like that.

After Temple square we went to our friends the Shumway's. We love going to visit them, especially the girls. They never sleep enough but they always have lots of fun. We spent Friday at thanksgiving point exploring the different hands on learn areas. It's amazing everything that is there.

Saturday we watched conference. It was incredible to be able to focus your whole weekend around conference. The girls pitched their tents to hear the prophets voice, while the colored various pictures. When the children's choir sang, but was fascinat to hear them. She sat as close to  the TV as possible.

Eric was able to go to the priesthood season on Saturday night. He said it was an amazing experience to be in the conference center wth so many priesthood holders.

Sunday morning we went together to watch conference. I have never been there for conference and it was a very powerful morning to be there. It was amazing to listen to three new general authorities bear testimony. I was in awe as President Neslson spoke with power and in a way that I have never heard him, realizing he is now the president of the quorum of the twleve. The most difficult was to watch our prophet, President Monson, struggle to stand as he bore his testimony...and then struggle to finish. Something that has never happened. Then the choir concluded by singing with such power the Spirit of God. What an amazing experience. I will never forget. I hope to be able to take my girls with me to experience it all on their own.

The weekend was amazing because everything was focus on listening to the voices of God servants. When you do that first, the blessing are beyond description.

We also took time out to take a picture of our family in front of the Mt Timpanogos temple, so we can send out invitations for our sealing day.
