Texas Sunset
After 4+ years the Lescarbeau Family says goodbye to Texas. There are so many things that we enjoyed about being in Texas...the people, the warm winter weather, the food. There are things we will not miss...the hot summers, being three hours from everything, and fire ants. So after our goodbyes and one final award...
We packed up the truck...
And we headed to our new home...Colorado. With two little children in tow (Alex & Emily were still in Florida) we called in some re-enforcements...Grandmere (Polly's mom). We made a pit stop in Amarillo leaving five hours a day in the car. We arrived at our house shortly before our help arrived. (We called on the local Elder's Quorum to come and help) Within an hour the truck was unpacked and the beds were being set up. We quickly realized with the exception of the kitchen, bathroom, and hallway, there were no lights to be found. A shopping list was quickly created.
We have been worried about not having A/C. We had been reassured with the cool evenings and closing the blinds, it would be okay. Moving into you house the weekend of the heat wave through Colorado, wasn't reassuring. (We have determined that A/C is a must...even when it isn't record breaking temperatures outside...is that bad if we are already looking for something to buy to avoid next years summer with no A/C.)
When all was said and done within less then a week the house was put into living order (boxes are still in the garage that need a place to call home...Polly doesn't have her craft closet).
We were able to take a need break to the park...

We are excited for our new adventures, the mountains, four seasons, cool summer evenings, and the sidewalks (My San Angelo friends will understand).

Was the final goodbye award ceremony emotional for you? They did a goodbye luncheon for Rich, I about lost it. It was pretty emotional, even for him. SO glad he didn't mention myself and the family in his speech, I think he knew I would bawl.
